I thought to write something about the life of Kakashi, since many people have not watched, the episodes between 117-120.
So, mainly, Kakashi once was the student of Minato (everybody knows that ) , he was one of the youngest Jonin of the leaf.
White Fang or Sakumo Hatake was the father of Kakashi, he was sent on mission in which he had to make a tough decision.
Either he would let his comrades die and fulfill the mission objective or he would save his comrades and turn the mission into a failure. Therefore, he chosed to save his comrades and ultimately, fail the mission.

Upon returning to village, Sakumo was in deep shock, the comrades he wished to save were against him because of the failure of the mission. He could not bear the circumstances and committed suicide

From the day, Kakashi was changed, he started to wear the mask, Kakashi never told anyone the cause of his father's death
.
It is to be noticed that Sakumo Hatake was the killer of Sasori's parents.
